About South Park Commons

South Park Commons is a home for the most talented technologists, builders, and domain-experts figuring out what's next. We believe good ideas very rarely come about in isolation and have created this community to promote judgment-free exploration and help our members discover new ways of impacting the world.

Members of South Park Commons have built 150+ venture-backed companies, dozens of non-profits and social impact ventures, and published 20+ papers on technical topics. For technologists working on new endeavors, South Park Commons is the best place to be. Our community was covered in the New York Times, TechCrunch, and Wired.

The SPC-SF Office Manager Role

SPC is a community for exploration, a process that requires bringing our members together to spark new ideas. This role is an opportunity to support in-person collaboration, connection, and creation in our San Francisco community space.

The SPC SF Office Manager is the person who keeps our San Francisco office buzzing, by enabling collaboration, creation, and productivity among our members. This person discovers and executes upon new activities, events, and other ways to bring our community together and support the work of members.

This role is based in San Francisco. The SPC SF Office Manager would work out of our community space at 27 South Park St.

Responsibilities

  • Office Management — Handle the logistics of the space including communicating with office vendors, purchasing equipment, and getting members access. You are the go-to person for answering member questions about the space and collecting member feedback to improve our office’s design and utilization.
  • Events — Organize regular San Francisco events that facilitate connections amongst members and alumni, and spur new traditions in our community (examples: weekly socials, hackathons, and visits to local university labs and industrial facilities). You will manage event scheduling, speaker coordination, and work with our staff to provide on-the-ground support for events like our summer BBQ or speaker series (these are occasionally evening events).
  • Community-building — A primary goal will be supporting a vibrant community of technologists and domain experts in our San Francisco space. Communities don’t just happen on their own. You will be a facilitator who experiments with ways of connecting people and ideas, supporting deep exploration, and advancing the whole community toward its frontier.

We are a member-driven community so we’re constantly evolving based on our members’ ideas. Your role will grow accordingly.

Who you are:

  • You are detail-oriented and take responsibility for getting things done right. No task is too big or too small.
  • You are an effective communicator that can coordinate with our staff, members, and guest speakers.
  • You are excited to connect interpersonally with our members and create a strong community culture.
  • You are entrepreneurially-minded and comfortable with ambiguity. You enjoy wearing different hats and experimenting with new initiatives that push our community’s frontiers.
South Park Commons is an equal opportunity employer.
