Blackwing is looking for a Founding Designer to join an amazing team on the quest to transform the future of finance. Our ideal candidate will get full ownership and autonomy over the entire design stack — from helping shape the brand to designing our product’s interaction model and user experience.

What is Blackwing?

Blackwing was founded on a simple idea: everyone should have the ability to access financial tools, regardless of where they are born and regardless of how experienced they are. With customers at the heart of every decision we make, Blackwing aims to build financial tooling that is safe, transparent, and intuitive for all.

We’re starting with a hybrid exchange (HEX) focused on the South East Asian market. Our goal is to provide the transparency of a DEX without compromising the performance of a CEX, all while offering a UI that’s so intuitive our customers’ grandparents can use it.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop core products in a 0 to 1 environment.
• Design and execute experiments, A/B tests, and user tests to optimize product performance and drive growth
• Create user-centric designs that abstract away complicated DeFi nuances and smoothen user experience
• Maintain Blackwing’s design system that ensures consistency and scalability across all product touch-points
• Create and maintain wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and other design artifacts that effectively communicate design solutions to stakeholders

Requirements

• Strong portfolio showcasing your design process and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch or Figma
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and marketers
• Knowledge of UX design principles and methodologies, including user research, prototyping, and testing
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Passion for creating innovative products that solve real-world problems
• Interest in DeFi and trading is a plus.
